I think my favourite part of the Mario Bros game were the Warp Pipes and the Piranha Plants. I liked when they popped out suddenly from the Warp Pipes and I had to dodge them, it made the game super interesting for me. I chose to feature the 8 bit version as I felt that it would give a more nostalgic feeling to the design.
